About Rockmill

Rockmill Webspinners is the trading name of Patrick Gordon - a sole trader and member of The Federation of Small Businesses - FSB. Started in the autumn of 1999 in Willingham, Cambridge, Rockmill uprooted in 2003 and moved to Luddenden, West Yorkshire, in search of hills and a better quality of life.

Patrick has been tinkering and working with the Internet since the mid 90's. During that time the Internet has changed from a place for techies, to a place to throw your money and is now just part and parcel of normal life.

Rockmill started when a hobby became too big to be just a hobby. So in the end, the day job went and the hobby became a livelihood.

Small is not just beautiful

You know what it's like with a big business. You ring them and the receptionist answers the phone - is your account manager in the office today? Or do they even work for that company anymore? The age of personal service is dead.

Or it is? No it's not. It's very much alive in small businesses like yours and in Rockmill. No hold music, no telephone menu system, if you ring Rockmill you will talk to Patrick. He knows his clients, what they want and how to put that into practice.

It's all about client continuity and giving a professional service. And that comes across in the websites that Patrick designs. Attention to detail, using appropriate technology, keeping download times to a minimum and all within budget and delivered on time.

Built by hand

All Rockmill websites are hand written in HTML. Every dot and every comma is there because it needs to be there. This level of detail can only be achieved by hand. There's a subtle difference between an Ikea kitchen and craftsman built kitchen but that difference is what matters. The craftsman kitchen is unique and it exactly fits the available space giving just the right amount of storage and practicallity.

Each Rockmill website is a one off. It is as unique as the customer who commisioned it. It enhances the image of the business it is advertising. It is hand built to ensure that it fits the customers requirements.
