How does your website perform when a potential new client does a search in Google?

To give your self the best possible chance of appearing high up the results page, there are some simple checks you can make on your website.

The title of each page of your website must give an accurate description of what that page is about. You must use your most important keywords in the page title.

Here is an example:

Blue textThe page title
Black textA longer description of the contents of that page
Green textThe link to the page

Keywords
Your page title is very important because Google indexes these words and gives them more weight than ordinary text on other parts of a web page when calculating your position within it's search results.

Bookmarks/Favorites
Your page title is also important because this is the text that is displayed when it is added to a potential clients favourites / bookmarks. If you are using Microsoft Windows, press Ctrl+D now to see the title of this web page as it would appear in your favourites / bookmarks.
