MASTER COMPOSTER

Householders in Cambridgeshire are being given the opportunity to become a Master Composter. The project is being coordinated by HDRA Consultants (based at Ryton Organic Gardens), in partnership with Cambridgeshire County Council, Cambridge City Council, East Cambridgeshire District Council, Fenland District Council, Huntingdonshire District Council and South Cambridgeshire District Council. The project has been funded by landfill tax trust WREN using WRG plc Landfill Tax Credits.

Once trained, the householders are to spend at least 30 hours promoting home composting in any way that they can over the year. This could take the form of talks to local schools and associations or simply by talking to neighbours and encouraging them to compost.

"If it's rotten, then we want to know about it."
