Online Database

The are hundreds of reasons for needing an online database but in simple terms you want to:

• share a lot of data with others via your website.
• collect a lot of data from users / customers / staff via your website.
• standardise data entry.

Here are some examples of when an online database would make your life easier.

• List of products on your website
• Content Management System (CMS)
• Links - manage your own list of links to other websites
• News - add company news to your website
• Blog - WordPress Widgets
• Forum - run your own customer forum, FAQ or support site

Review / Monitor online
Using an Administration Panel, you will be able to monitor your database and check on data that has been submitted. Or you could update News or Links as more information comes to hand.

Nothing to install
You do not need any extra software on your computer to administer the database on your website. Everything that is required will be part of your website. All you do is log into the Administration Panel that Rockmill provides and review activity.

PHP + MySQL
If Rockmill is not hosting your website, then you will need to find out if your current host supports PHP scripting and MySQL database. These are the tools that we needed to add a database to your website.
